Who We Are

Our Mission and Identity

Richland Baptist Church is a family of believers committed to feeding God’s sheep with the daily bread of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to share the message of forgiveness, repentance, and salvation through the wisdom of God’s Word, so that all who believe may come to know the life-changing power of Jesus.

We are a church rooted in faith, strengthened by prayer, and devoted to serving our community with love and compassion.

After several years, the church burned to the ground and a building
was donated to the Richland church family. The building needed some
reconstruction and with members of the church and friends in the community they made those repairs.

Sometime later, the pastor and members of the church decided to purchase a building that had become available. After much prayer, the church bought the building from the Tom Public School system. This building served the Richland family and community for many years.

Dr. Threadgill had a vision to build a new worship facility for the
growth of the church. Richland has been on the move for God;
we have added new out-reach ministries and increased our leadership with Associate Minister, Rev. Dr. Burtchal Griffin.

We’ve been blessed to have many ministers that have served and led the church in its past.

Church Pulpit

Those ministers that have served as pastor at Richland Baptist Church
are as follows: Rev. T. Threadgill, Rev. James Harris, Rev. Gilford, Rev. O.L. Threadgill, Rev. Rolfe, Rev. Hughs, Rev. Jim Ellih, Rev. Blake, Rev. Cotton, Rev. Johnny Williams, Rev. Steven Greene, Rev. Herbert Smith, Rev. Nathan Threadgill, Rev. Nathaniel Threadgill, Rev. Percy Hooks, Associate Minister Elder Earl Williams and Associate Minister Billy Henderson.

God is continually blessing this ministry. It is God whom we will
always praise for our blessings, and it is He whom we will ask to
guide us as we continue to travel the path that lies before us. We
will keep our eyes on the prize as we try to run this race. It is our
goal and purpose to walk in righteousness so that we may be a light to
the world and God will be kept at the head of our lives.
To God be the Glory for all He has done!
